The digital world allows people to connect people easily and bringing people closer, nevertheless the reality shows the opposite. According to a “research has been done by Norwegian University College” they have set that there is a link between hate speech in the new media (internet) and the desire of practicing violence. However, research on extremism detects that online extremism contains bunch of hate and violence propaganda, thus there is a connection between hate speech on social media and the desire to carry out violence.
On July 22, 2011 the terrorist Anders Behring Breivik killed 77 people in Norway. He was active on different social media platforms where his posts embrace hates speech, among them a 1.500-page document. Hate speech is a source of stereotypes and prejudice that rate a person or a group as inferior based on perceived difference.
