Vulnerable people, mainly youngsters from a migrant background are manipulated to integrate extremist groups. A democratic and inclusive society has the responsibility to help and promote their full integration on society by educating and guiding the young in their identity building process. Mamadou Bah, as the President of ACITMMM – an association that improves the integration of migrants and increases the understanding of Islamic culture and religion, contributing to a pluralistic and peaceful society – recognises the danger of radicalization and remembers that each one of us has the duty to counter violent radicalization.
ACITMMM – the Islamic Community Association of Tapada das mercês e Mem-Martins is a sample of one of the organisations that aims to prevent racism and all kinds of radicalization. Mamadou Bah as a migrant and the President of this local association that works in peacebuilding, share his ideas concerning the importance and the duty of society in work together to prevent radicalization.
